- Black-legged ticks (Ixodes scapularis)
- Brown dog ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus)
- Lone star ticks (Amblyomma americanum)
- Fleas (Ctenocephalides felis)
Bravecto protects from these parasites- except for lone star ticks- for 12 weeks; whether you use chews or a topical treatment. It is effective against lone star ticks for eight weeks.

How Does Bravecto Work?
Bravecto contains Fluralaner, which is absorbed into the dog’s bloodstream upon administration and dissolves quickly on your dog’s skin. When fleas and ticks bite your dog, they ingest fluralaner. This chemical compound is known to inhibit the arthropod nervous system and thus, the parasite dies, keeping your dog safe and healthy.
Bravecto For Puppies: Is It Safe For Young Dogs?
Bravecto has been tested and approved to be safe for use in puppies who are at least 6 months of age and a minimum of 4.4 lbs in weight.
